Now, as anyone can see, though I live in the US, my chart is pretty Euro-based with Kylie, Dannii, Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Leona Lewis, Madonna (she may be American, but even Madonna has said she's more appreciated musically in the UK than in the US - but I digress...). All that being said our highest entry is a track that I had heard before going to the UK, but wasn't fond of until I actually got over there and some friends kept singing it and saying how much they loved it. So I took another listen and was hooked. As a result, The Ting Tings debut comfortably in the top 10 at #6 with, That's Not My Name. New in at #7 is BWO's Lay Your Love On Me. This is a sugary, poppy, dance number from Sweden, and it's just great fun - it almost reminds me of Bad Boys Blue's Save Your Love. I don't know why, it just does. Of course that's because last week I flew to the Netherlands to see Kylie in Rotterdam for KYLIEX2008. And it's no shocker that The One lept from #9 to #1 in its third week on the chart. Where's Beyonce? I ask that because both Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams are hanging around the top 10 with their singles Daylight and We Break the Dawn. Now all we need is a new single from B to complete the set. Daylight breaks the top 5 and We Break the Dawn spends its ninth week in the top 10.   No new entries last week since I was in Europe. The track is one of the best from X and the Freemason's mix just adds to the song being utterly awesome. So with its debut last week at #25, all of Kylie's singles from X (2 Hearts, Wow, In My Arms, All I See, The One) appear on the chart. Apparently I like this album more than I originally thought. This week The One climbs to #9 (and I had a listend to it as much as I wanted it'd be at least #2 - probably #1) Thanks to my controlled plays of The One, Danity Kane are able to leap from #6 to #1 this week. Jesse McCartney's Leavin' easily makes #1 this week closely followed by Annie's Chewing Gum II - aka I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me which leaps from #40 to #2 almost a month before it's actually released in the UK. Thanks to Sex and the City, Fergie's Label or Love debutes in the top 15. Cute song, but I'm not sure how strong it will be on the chart. Still #12 isn't a bad debut these days. Madonna's follow up to the truly unoriginal 4 Minutes, Give It 2 Me, debuts at #22. 4 Minutes stalled outside the top 10 at #11, but I expect Give It 2 Me will fair better. It's a much better song. Break the Ice has finally climbed to the top after 11 weeks on the chart 8 of them in the top 5. Jesse McCartney's Leavin' makes a giant leap to #2 this week. The only new entry is Annie's future single, I Know UR Girlfriend Hates Me. Many are referring to this song as Chewing Gum II; and once you've heard it, you'll know why. But hey, it worked once, and now it's working again. But this week, Michelle Williams reaches #1 with her latest single Break the Dawn, which means each of Destiny's Child's members have had solo #1's Beyonce - Work It Out, Crazy In Love, Ring the Alarm, and Get Me Bodied Kelly Rowland - Like This, Work Michelle Williams - We Break the Dawn This week, Britney's fourth track from her latest album Blackout, Break the Ice moves up to #2. All four songs have reached the top 6, but none have hit #1. Though watch out next week, Britney could have her first #1 since Toxic - and of course with the help Jason Nevins no less. Britney's Piece of Me - the only single from Blackout to miss the top 5 re-enters the chart this week at its original peak of #6 thanks to the Mysto and Pizzi Dance Mix. The first time came with its release througout Europe minus the UK. This time it comes with the UK release. In My Arms is closely challenged by the first mainstream solo release by Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child - We Break the Dawn. Though Destiny's Child holds the record for the artist or group with the most singles charting without reaching #1 on the Gig Em Chart, both Beyonce and Kelly Rowland have had multiple solo #1's. Now Michelle is vying for her chance at the top. Britney's Piece of Me is her fourth top 10 hit on the Gig Em Chart from her latest album Blackout. Piece of Me is back up to #3 this week. Kylie occupies no less than four of the top 10 spots this week (and thanks to Dannii half the top 10 is occupied by a Minogue). These were remastered by someone to sound more finished and more like an "X" track. The differences are subtle and you may not notice them if you hadn't been listening to the songs before hearing the remastered versions. But as someone who has been listening to most of these for a while now, I LOVE how these remastered versions have turned out. They really sound good.
